Ingredients
  

  • 250 gr ground chicken meat use Olagud Chicken Breast Fillet
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic mashed/finely minced
  • ½ small onion finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs or tapioca flour
  • ½ tsp pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Bistik Sauce:
  • ½ onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 200 ml water
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce or ketchup
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sweet soy sauce Kecap Manis
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in a little water
  • Oil for sautéing

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Make the chicken mixture Combine the Olagud chicken meat, egg, garlic, chopped onion, flour, pepper, and salt in a bowl. Mix well until the dough is blended and easy to shape.
  2. Shape and cook the meatballs Shape the mixture into small balls. Boil them in boiling water until they float (±5 minutes) or steam them for about 10 minutes for a healthier result. Remove and drain.
  3. Sauté the aromatics Heat a little oil in a pan. Sauté the sliced onion and minced garlic until fragrant and softened.
  4. Make the sauce Add the water, tomato sauce, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, sugar, and pepper. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  5. Combine Add the cooked chicken balls into the sauce. Cook briefly until the flavors are absorbed.
  6. Thicken the sauce Slowly pour in the cornstarch solution while stirring constantly until the sauce thickens to your liking.
  7. Serve Remove from heat and serve the Chicken Meatball Bistik while warm with white rice or boiled potatoes.
